Outdoor Brands Gander Mountain, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops and Orvis Attract Fans Fastest in the Week Ahead of Memorial Day
Looks like Facebook is becoming basic gear for fans of the outdoors.
In the weeklong run-up to Memorial Day, Gander Mountain grew its liker base by better than 10 percent. Cabela’s edged up almost nine percent (and crossed the million-liker mark). Bass Pro Shops bagged a six percent gain, and The Orvis Company placed just outside this week’s Media Logic Top 10 with a solid four percent uptick.
Add in The Home Depot, PacSun and Walmart as seasonal players, and we find seven of the top 11 fastest growing Facebook retailers pulled fans with the call of the wild.
Other winners this week also seemed to be tapping into their customers’ good spirits. Pottery Barn, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and The Limited all attracted significant and positive user-generated content with the promise of nothing more than the fun of sharing a little sunshine.
It looks like its going to be a Facebook summer for outdoor brands as they build big fan bases in anticipation of solid engagement going into the fall.
