2024 Outlook of Older Adults Survey

Due to the aging younger segment of the baby boomer generation, there’s a record number of people turning 65 in 2024. More than a demographic statistic, this population change will have an impact on sectors like healthcare, politics and consumer spending for years to come.

At Media Logic, our second annual Outlook of Older Adults Survey delves into the perspectives, concerns and aspirations of older adults for the upcoming year. Conducted by our Consumer In Sight research team, this study surveyed adults across the United States aged 64 to 75, aiming to capture a comprehensive snapshot of this influential demographic’s outlook on the coming months.

What’s on the minds of older adults?

Our survey unveiled critical themes around the daily lives and long-term concerns of older adults. Here are a few areas we explored:

  • Global affairs and politics: With an election year on the horizon, how do older adults feel about the political climate and their personal security?
  • Maintaining health and quality of life: What matters most to older adults in terms of maintaining their health and living a full and independent life?
  • Social ties and emotional health: What personal connections bring the greatest joy, and how do they contribute to overall well-being?
  • Health and wellness priorities: From exercise to diet, what health-promoting actions are top of mind for this demographic?
