The Institute of Food Technologists trade show – an annual event that attracts more than 23,000 top food science and technology professionals from more than 90 countries – is always an important opportunity for Fortitech Premixes to showcase applications of its custom nutrient solutions and service innovations.
For the 2014 show, the Fortitech Premixes brand really wanted to stand out – to grab the attention of the thousands of attendees and drive them to the booth. There were a few challenges, however, to making this happen. First, obviously, was standing out among over 1,000 exhibitors in the expo venue. Second was the fact that the Fortitech Premixes brand wanted to truly shine under the umbrella of parent company DSM. The third challenge was simply getting attendees to engage with Fortitech Premixes at the show.
We worked with Fortitech Premixes to come up with a creative – and attention-grabbing – solution. A kiosk was built at the highly trafficked registration area of the trade show offering fortified coffee – coffee being something that everyone wants and fortified coffee being an engaging demonstration of what Fortitech Premixes does. The kiosk featured a monitor that presented real customers sampling beverages with fortification by Fortitech Premixes, plus highly visible signage publicizing the booth information to direct traffic there and provide an additional opportunity to discuss what Fortitech Premixes can offer.
The kiosk area proved to be a magnet for people entering the expo facility – challenging the Fortitech Premixes team to keep up with demand. Overall, the on-site promotion gave attendees a great start to their expo visit, along with an immediate and positive connection with the Fortitech Premixes brand.
