Weekly RSJI Updates: New Brands Trend Up, Index Vets Drop Down

Some new brands trended up while some RSJI veterans trended down this week on Media Logic's Retail Social Juice Index. Two retailers proved that dips on the RSJI are not always a negative for brands; sometimes they're the result of incredibly engaging posts from days prior. J&P Cycles, a brand that consistently tops the Index, turned its social efforts off for a day. The short break resulted in an 85-point dip on the RSJI after a wildly popular Memorial Day post. When the jeweler asked fans to "Click 'like' if you love bold and stunning diamond earrings!" more than 22,000 fans responded! And Newegg took advantage of Timeline's pinning feature to promote a giveaway and used a "like-this-status" update to build promotion among 11,000 likers and counting!

In this corner, donning white satin and lace trunks, we have David's Bridal, whose "Share the Love" contest has propelled the brand into the top ranks of Media Logic's Retail Social Juice Index (RSJI). In the opposing corner, sporting zippers, buckles and black leather, we have J&P Cycles, a biker brand that runs a little rougher.
